Posting to social media and getting your audience to engage in social media are two very different things. Social media posts that don’t catch people’s attention just sit idle without knowing if they are reaching anyone. It is important to know that your message is resonating with people. Here are a few ways to make sure you are engaging in what you have to say on social media:

1. Add visual aids

Including pictures or graphics in your social media posts can be a great way to catch the interest of your audience. Whether it is your logo, a picture of your staff members, or pictures from a special event, contest, or deal, a picture can help draw people in. People always say that a picture is worth 1,000 words, and that’s very true in this situation! People respond better to a message that includes a picture than just plain text, so add on a cool visual and send your message out in the world.

2. Cater your message to different social media platforms

Every social media platform is different. Different demographics use different platforms, and it is important to change the wording or format of your message based on who you are trying to reach. Twitter and Instagram typically see a younger audience than platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn, and that is important to remember when drafting a message. Longer posts can be saved for Facebook and short, sweet messages can be better for Twitter or Instagram! Don’t just copy and paste, customize your message to match your target audience.

3. Give quick replies and answers

When people reach out to you via social media with questions or concerns, it is important to get back to them with an answer promptly. Answering questions and showing that you want to inform people about your business and services shows that you truly care about your patients or customers. Business is all about people. People want to know that there is another human behind the business front, so it can be helpful to show them your humanity and personality when replying. Building relationships with people can drastically improve your business. After all, relationships with people are what help a business grow.
